Srinagar traders, civil society members vow to break COVID chain

  Pledging to break the chain of virus, Srinagar-based traders and civil society members are encouraging people to follow COVID19 safety guidelines. Alarmed by the rising number of covid cases in Srinagar, the local traders themselves suggested to authorities to impose three-day lockdown in a week. “The COVID19 is a concern and we want everyone to be safe and healthy. So, we had suggested district administration to impose three-day lockdown in a week till situation improves,” said Farhan Kitab, General Secretary, Coordination Committee City Centre, CCCC. The CCCC is an amalgam of various market associations – mostly spread from Polo View to Ghanta Ghar.Kitab said that in their suggestions, they proposed closure of markets from Friday to Sunday. “We further suggested opening of markers for the rest of days from 11am to 5pm.   SRINAGAR:  Advisor to LG Baseer Khan Advisor Thursday said that Jammu and Kashmir has placed an order of 1.25 crore Covid-19 vaccines, which is the highest in comparison with other states in the country along with stating that there is ample stock of all Covid-19 related medicines including Remdesivir. Covid-19: Kashmir Civil Society Members Voice Concern On Lockdown Strategy

  SRINAGAR:   As Kashmir valley braces a third lockdown from Thursday evening owing to the rising Covid-19 cases, the civil society at large is suggesting various measures to contain the raging contagion while keeping a complete lockdown strategy as the last measure. The 84-hour lockdown will be the third consecutive since reading of Article 370 on August 5, 2019. 3 Persons From Kupwara Held On Way To Cross LoC In Uri: Police

  SRINAGAR:   Police on Thursday said that three persons were arrested as they were on way to cross Line of Control in Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. Police in a statement said that three persons, Majid Rakeeb Konshi (26) of Nowgam Handwara, Waseem Ahmad Khan (28) of Deedikot Kupwara and Ghulam Mustafa Ahanger (28) of Goshi Kupwara, were motivated by a person through the spoof calls on privacy focused app that he would help them to cross the LoC. “He told them that he would meet them in person once they will reach Uri and would eventually tell them the exact crossing point at the LoC.” Police Uri however received the information from reliable sources in time and due to the timely action, all the three persons were caught at Uri market while onboard a Maruti vehicle (JK01M-0371), the statement reads. “After proper counselling all the three persons are being handed over to their legal heirs.   *‘Shab-i-Qadr’ Holiday on May 10: Govt* Srinagar, April 29 (GNS): Government on Thursday ordered that the holiday on account of “Shab-i-Qadr" shall now observed May 10 (Monday) instead of May 9.  “In partial modification of Order No. 1159-JK(GAD) of 2020 dated 24.12.2020 and No. 1160-JK(GAD) of 2020 dated 24.12.2020, it is hereby ordered that the holiday on Government account of 'Shab-i-Qadr" shall now observed 10th May, 2021 (Monday) instead of 9th May, 2021 (Sunday),” reads an order issued here, a copy of which lies with GNS. Some Standalone Shops, Public Transport With 50% Capacity To Be Allowed During Lockdown In Srinagar

  SRINAGAR:   Administration in Srinagar on Thursday said that wholesale dealers, standalone grocery, vegetable, meat and milk shops may remain open during the 84 hour lockdown beginning this evening. In a detailed order, the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Mohammad Aijaz Assad also said that restaurants in hotels can remain functional for in-house guests, to be served only in the rooms. “There will be no hindrance to the smooth movement of goods and essential supplies, nomads migrating with herds, Darbar Move Officials/ staff, and other products like agricultural / horticultural goods, on the National & State Highways.” He said there shall he no restriction on interstate and intra slate movement of essential goods either. “All Industrial and Scientific establishment, both Public & Private, are allowed to operate for production purposes, or otherwise. T he pain associated with kidney stone has often been described as the worst pain a person has ever suffered, even by women who have given child birth. An agonizing pain in the lower back just below the ribs spreading around to front of abdomen and sometimes extending into the groin area are its classic symptoms. The pain may come in waves as the stone tries to move through the tube between the kidney and urinary bladder. Sometimes there will be blood in the urine. Often there is nausea, fever and vomiting.
